Why do we crave tactile, textured, and gorgeous materials like bouclé? At The Inside, we credit Philip Arctander and his Clam Chair produced in the 1940s by Nordisk Staal & Møbel Central in Denmark. Upholstered in curly sheepskin, the chair lit a design fire and left enthusiasts chasing after the fuzzy fabric.
THE BOUCLÉ THAT BROKE THE INTERNET
The Berlin home of art collector Emmanuel De Bayser
This incredible apartment belongs to Emmanuel De Bayser, the French-born, Berlin-based co-owner of The Corner Berlin. De Bayser famously wanted to create an interior that could hold his impressive collection of iconic modernist furniture. Since the publication of this home tour, the images have captivated the design internet and left us lusting for bouclé.

Another of our favorite bouclé chairs on the market is by French designer Pierre Yovanovitch. This dense bouclé has both the look and feel of Philip Arctander’s armchair.
